We collect information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Data: Name, username, email address, profile picture, and password (hashed).
- Social Data: Friend lists, contact information you upload, messages and chat history within the app.
- Review and Content Data: Reviews, comments, ratings, podcast recommendations, and profile biographical information you create.
- Payment Information: Payment methods and billing details (collected and processed by third-party payment processors, not stored directly by Pinto).
1.2 Usage and Technical Data
- Podcast Activity Data: Detailed listening history, playback data (e.g., skips, pause times, completion rates), search queries, and content discovery data.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, pages/features viewed, app crashes, and usage duration.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
2.1 Service Provision and Improvement
- To operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of the Service.
- To personalize your experience, including recommending podcasts and connecting you with friends.
- To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the Service.
2.2 Monetization and Commercial Use (Data Sale Disclosure)
- Advertising and Marketing: We use and disclose your Usage and Technical Data, and aggregated/de-identified Social Data, to tailor advertisements to you, both within the Service and on third-party platforms.
- Sale of Data: We reserve the right to sell, disclose, or otherwise share aggregated, de-identified, or specific types of personal information (particularly Podcast Activity Data and Discovery Data) with third-party advertisers, market researchers, and business partners for their commercial use, including but not limited to targeted advertising and industry analysis. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to this processing and potential sale of your data.
- Subscription and IAP Processing: To process transactions for Premium Features.
2.3 Security and Compliance
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and illegal activities.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share or disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
- Publicly Shared Content: Your User Content (reviews, ratings, profile picture, and username) is designed to be public and shared with other users of the Service and may be indexed by search engines.
- With Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors and service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing) who need access to such information to perform services on our behalf.
- For Business Transfers: If Pinto is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred as a business asset.
- For Legal Reasons: To comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process or governmental request.
- With Advertising and Analytics Partners: As disclosed in Section 2.2, we share data with third parties to help us monetize the Service.

However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our databases, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Children. If you become aware that a Child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a Child without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Opt-out of Data Sale: You may have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. We will provide mechanisms within the app to exercise this right.
- Access and Correction: You can review and change your personal information by logging into your account.
